Luc Beco graduated as a Doctor in Veterinary Medicine (DVM) with Distinction from Liège University in 1987. He started a Pet clinic with his spouse (Dr. Martine Heyneman) in Spa/Belgium. In 1992, he reinstated the University of Liège as aConsultant in Veterinary Dermatology.
He has occupied this position until 1999. After this period he was admitted for an alternative route residency programme at the North Carolina State University (USA). This was awarded, after examination, by the European Diploma in Veterinary Dermatology, by the European College of Veterinary Dermatology (ECVD) . This gave him in 2002 the status of European Specialist™ in Veterinary Dermatology.
He workes now in Veterinary Dermatology in a private clinic in Spa. Since 2002, he is member of the Educational Committe of the ECVD and further Educational. He was Meetings secretary of the European Society of Veterinary dermatology (ESVD) from 2004 to 2010 and was elected President of the European Society of Veterinary Dermatology (ESVD) in 2010.
He is Clinical Instructor for the University de Liège since 1995.
Luc Beco has published several scientific publications and has lectured in more than 120 national and international meetings.
He practices in French, German, and English.
Luc Beco is also member of the Lions Clubs International since 1989 (member of the Lions Club of Spa).
